GREEN SUPPLIER SELECTION USING Q-RUNG ORTHOPAIR FUZZY TOPSIS: CASE OF PAKISTANI TEXTILE RETAILERS”

Abstract

SCM is Sustainable as a Depot among emerging economies, particularly in resource-based industry such as textile industry. Since the textile industry is an export oriented and labor-intensive sector in Pakistan; therefore, choosing of green suppliers is most important factor to enhance organization competitiveness globally as well as meeting sustainability requirements. In this study, both green supplier selection issue and q-Rung Ortho pair Fuzzy Sets (q-ROFS) are considered along with the Technique for Order Preferences by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The proposed hybrid model captures the uncertainly and indecision during the opinions of experts, hence allows for an effective decision making in supplier performance evaluation from environmental, social and operational perspectives. Questionnaires were used as data collection tool from the top textile retail stores purchasing managers in Pakistan, expert judgments organized in q-ROF-TOPSIS. The result shows that suppliers with a proactive stance towards compliance to environmental laws, waste reduction programs and utilization of renewable energy sources have a competitive advantage in all tendering processes. Policy Consideration Prospective Textile merchandise suppliers are encouraged to prefer counterparts who comply with sustainable development goals and global trade standards. Theoretical contributions the study contributes in the application domain from theoretical perspective by employing q-ROF-TOPSIS to ascertain the extent of GSC and offering managerial implications that how to green their business following it.
